Day one of the trip is your arrival day in Kathmandu, Nepal. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, We Trek Nepal representative will welcome you and transfer to hotel. It will take more or less 20 minutes to reach hotel depending upon traffic. We will let you know about our trip briefing schedule and other essentials on your arrival at the hotel. You stay relaxed and try to adjust with the new atmosphere as a traveller. We will talk about any questions you may have at our trip briefing meeting.
We are at the elevation of 1,400 meters from sea level. We will take this day as our acclimatization and preparation day before we head up towards the mountains. Instead of staying idle in hotel, we will take you for a wonderful day tour of Kathmandu valley. Exploring UNESCO’s cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu is the best way to know about historical, cultural and spiritual aspects of this 2 millennia old city. We will visit Swoyambhunath popularly known as the Monkey Templethat is oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Squarethat is one of the medieval palace squares in Kathmandu valley, Boudhanaththat is the largest Buddhist stupa and Pashupatinaththat is a Hindu temple premises with open Hindu cremation platforms on the bank of River Bagmati. Once we are back to hotel in the afternoon, we will go for last minute gearing up for our trekking adventure.
We will drive to Pokhara, 200 km west of Kathmandu, today. Pokhara is the main gateway to the trekking in Annapurna region. The highway that leads us to Pokhara is full of beautiful villages, rivers, and surroundings. It will take us about six hours to reach Pokhara. This city provides beautiful view of the Annapurna range, peaceful atmosphere, and a stay by the lakeside. Once we reach Pokhara, we can go for a relaxing walk along the walking lane in the Lakeside.
It’s our first trekking day of the trip but the start of the walk is still about 1.5 hours from here. We drive to Nayapul after breakfast to start our Poon Hill walking adventure. After we get off of the vehicle and start walking towards the destination. When we reach Birethanti, we need to check in to the Annapurna Conservation Area check post before we trek further. Ghadruk, our destination for the day, is about 5 hours walk from Nayapul. We follow the route along the Modi River valley up towards the ethnic Gurung village of Ghandruk. Ghandruk village offers an awesome view of the mountains as well as an amazing cultural indulgence. Perfect for a family time.
After spending amazing time at Ghandruk and enjoying the culture and view, we will trek to another place today. Tolkha is the destination of our walk for the day. We will descend all the way down to Modi Khola and cross the suspension bridge before ascending towards Tolkha village. The walk for today brings us some awesome places along the trail in the valley. Once we reach Tolkha, we can indulge in exploring the surroundings of the place and also enjoy the serenity it bears.
This final day of the family trek in Annapurna brings us through beautiful and serene forested area. The trail gives us one of the best nature trekking experiences. We will trek to Dhampus village as our overnight destination for the day. The village provides an amazing panorama of the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. We will enjoy another peaceful evening watching the mountains and the valley.
We will drive to Pokhara after breakfast today. Once we reach Pokhara and settle in the hotel, we will go for a half day sightseeing tour of Pokhara. We will visit Davis falls, Gupteshwor cave and Fewa Lake for a peaceful boat riding experience. Evening will be free and relaxing.
We will drive back to Kathmandu today. Drive through the same highway we took earlier to go to Pokhara takes us back to the Nepalese capital city. Once we reach Kathmandu and check into hotel, we will have free time on our own. After several days in the quiet mountains, life in Kathmandu might feel a sudden change. There is a farewell dinner tonight.
