We will first go to Nagarjun forest in Shivapuri Nagarjun National park. The forest is home to the birds like grey bush chat, black throated tit, Hume’s warbler, Himalayan griffon, mountain bulbul etc. It is a beautiful bird watching experience in the lush nature. Later, we will drive to Taudaha wetland in the south of Kathmandu where we can observe several species of migratory and local birds.
We will set off for the second day of bird watching tour. We will drive to Godavari and enter the Phulchoki forest to enjoy the beauty of birds and nature. Phulchoki is a natural habitat for 265 different species of birds including babbler, warbler, woodpecker, eagle etc. The forest is also shelter to migratory birds. We will enjoy the whole day searching, watching and taking pictures of the birds and nature. We return back to Kathmandu after an awesome day at Phulchoki.
After two full days of exploring the birds and nature in Kathmandu, we will now leave the valley to go to Chitwan today. We will drive to Chitwan for about six hours on the highway along the River Trishuli and Marshyangdi, finally taking us to Sauraha – the border town to Chitwan National Park. The drive will bring us to the introduction of the lifestyle of Nepalese rural villages. Once we reach Chitwan, we will have the jungle safari activity schedule in our hand. We will follow the same schedule designed for us by our hotel in Chitwan.
The day starts early morning with a bird watching tour. We will visit the river bank where we can enjoy watching several species of birds. We return back to hotel for breakfast before setting off for the day. After breakfast, we set out to explore more birds in the forest and wet land area. We will enjoy watching several species of birds for the day. We also have chance to come across other animals like one horned rhino, deer, leopard, wild boar etc. during the day.
We drive back to Kathmandu today. Drive through the same highway we took earlier takes us back to the Nepalese capital city. Once we reach Kathmandu and check into hotel, we will have free time on our own. After several days in the quiet mountains and in the jungle, life in Kathmandu might feel a sudden change.
