What do you see on the trek?
Day one of the trip is your arrival day in Kathmandu, Nepal. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, We Trek Nepal representative will welcome you and transfer to hotel. It will take more or less 20 minutes to reach hotel depending upon traffic. We will let you know about our trip briefing schedule and other essentials on your arrival at the hotel. You stay relaxed and try to adjust with the new atmosphere as a traveller. We will talk about any questions you may have at our trip briefing meeting.
We are at the elevation of 1,400 meters from sea level and are going well above 5,000 meters on the trip. We will take this day as our acclimatization and preparation day before we head up towards the mountains. Instead of staying idle in hotel, we will take you for a wonderful day tour of Kathmandu valley. Exploring UNESCO’s cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu is the best way to know about historical, cultural and spiritual aspects of this 2 millennia old city. We will visit Swoyambhunath popularly known as the Monkey Templethat is oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Squarethat is one of the medieval palace squares in Kathmandu valley, Boudhanaththat is the largest Buddhist stupa and Pashupatinaththat is a Hindu temple premises with open Hindu cremation platforms on the bank of River Bagmati. Once we are back to hotel in the afternoon, we will go for last minute gearing up for our trekking adventure.
We are leaving Kathmandu behind today and driving to Soti Khola in the Budhi Gandaki River valley to start the trekking. The highway and countryside drive takes us 139 west of Kathmandu. We will be able to see the Nepalese countryside as we drive along the highway; cross the River Trishuli and drive towards the destination for the day. We prepare for the trek and take rest to wear off the long day driving tiredness.
We are all set to leave on the trekking adventure along the river valley today. On the first day of our Manaslu Circuit Trek, we will walk to Machha Khola. The distance between Soti Khola to Machha Khola has several wonderful nature and rural lifestyle. Treking along the trail that goes opposite the Budhi Gandaki River course has so much to offer that every next thing is a wonder. We reach Machha Khola and check into a teahouse to stay overnight.
We will continue the trekking journey towards Jagat. We trek past beautiful Kholabesi to Tatopani. Tatopani translates as hot water and the names suggests of the presence of natural hot spring here. We will have to walk across suspension bridges several times along the trail. The beautiful surroundings of the trail ease our effort on the trail. Once we reach Jagat, we will have time to soak into the beauty of the place surrounding it.
The trek to Deng today is another day of several suspension bridges crossing and traversing the trail up and down the hill. We will walk past the villages of Sirdibas and Philim and pass through Ekle Bhatti. Ekle Bhatti is the place where the trail divides into two. One goes towards Tsum valley while the next goes Towards Larke La. We take the latter and walk towar Deng to stay overnight. Deng is a small settlement of teahouses.
Our walk to Namrung today takes us via many wonderful surroundings along the river valley. We are walking towards the Nubri valley up in the Manaslu reason. Every next day of trekking goes higher and brings us different landscape, culture and lifestyle. We cross suspension bridges; walk up and down the hill and reach Namrung village to stay overnight. The village is a traditional settlement of ethnic people. We can experience the difference in the lifestyle here and in the lower region of the river valley.
We continue the trek along the trail leading us towards Larke La. Our destination for the day is the amazing village of Sama Gaun. This typical village influenced by Tibetan Buddhist culture is a wonderful village of traditional mountain culture. We can now see the Nubri Valley culture, tradition and spirituality in full-fledged swing. Sama Gaun is the perfect example of the cultural riches of the region. We stay overnight at Sama Gaun.
We spend an extra day here at Sama Gaun trying to acclimatize before we go further higher towards Larke La. We utilize this day exploring the surroundings of Sama Gaun. We may trek to the Manaslu Base Camp which is a longer day option but it will take us to the base of the eighth highest mountain in the world. Or we might walk to Pungyen Gompa or simply stay around Sama Gaun and Birendra Lake and enjoy the time and views from there.
As we enjoy beautiful time in the Nubri valley, we are ready to trek higher now. We will trek to Samdo today. The walk to Samdo takes us through the surroundings of incredible and different landscapes. The higher we go more vividly different landscapes, flora, culture and lifestyle can be experienced. Samdo is another settlement in the region that is a usual stopover place for the trekkers in the region.
We are going to be at the highest overnight elevation on our trek today. We will trek to Dharamshala, also known as the Larke Phedi that stands at 4,460 meters above sea level. Mountain wilderness exposes their wonders and best form as we trace the trail towards the destination. We reach Dharamshala and spend time relaxing and preparing for the big adventure of crossing the pass.
We will start the day early in the morning up towards the Larke Pass – the highest elevation on this adventure trip to Manaslu region. As we trek higher towards the top of the pass, we get to see spectacular views of the surroundings. Larke La standing at the elevation of 5,213 meters above sea level brings another beautiful view to cherish. We spend a good amount of time at the top taking pictures and enjoying the view before descending to Bimthang on the other side of the pass. We stay overnight at Bimthang.
We have completed the Manaslu trail on the walking adventure. The walk today takes us to meet the Annapurna Circuit Trail and we stop at Dharapani to stay overnight today. The real wilderness of the Manaslu trail meets somewhat happening and popular Annapurana Circuit Trekking trail. This is the last day of our walking adventure in the Manaslu Circuit Trek and we start walking on the Annapurna Circuit Trail tomorrow.
Another beautiful day trek in the Annapurna circuit takes us to a peacefully located village of Chame today. This village is the headquarters of Manang district where most of the trekking part on this trip takes place. As we traverse the trail towards destination for the day, we can enjoy beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and hills with serene nature at its best expression. We reach the village of Chame with enough time to explore around it after checking into a tea house.
Pisang is the stopover place for tonight after trekking for the day. We are still following the Marshyangdi River valley up towards the destination. After about 5 hours of trekking, we reach Pisang and check into a guest house. Later, we can explore the village. Pisang is a place where the trekking route to Pisang Peak climbing adventure parts from Annapurna Circuit Trek. We explore and enjoy the surroundings of the place and stay overnight here.
It is a short climb in elevation today while trekking to Manang. About 4 hours of trek takes us only about 250 meters above Pisang in the elevation. The stretch between Pisang and Manang is another beautiful nature walk amidst the wonders of Himalayan surroundings. We reach Manang with ample time to explore the surroundings. We are staying two nights at this place to acclimatize before we continue trekking higher.
We spend an extra day and night here exploring the surroundings and adjusting with the high altitude climate. This day will give a chance to explore and know nature, culture and life in Manang better and prepares us to go higher in the elevation in next couple of days.
After spending an extra day at Manang, we are ready to trek further higher. Our trekking for the day will take us to Yak Kharka to stay overnight. We set off on the trek of about 4 hours towards Yak Kharka that stands at the elevation of 4,050 meters above sea level in the amazing Himalayan surroundings. The place lies in a river gorge surrounded by yak pastures. We will spend peaceful time once we reach Yak Kharka and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.
On our walk today, we reach the base of the Thorong La and it is going to be our highest overnight stopover on the trip. When we reach Thorong Phedi, we will be at the elevation of 4,450 meters above sea level with Thorong La right above at 5,416 meters. The trek to Thorong Phedi will be of about 4 hours letting us enough time to acclimatize and explore the surroundings of the place. We take a good rest waiting on the big adventure tomorrow.
We wake up really early in the morning to start trekking up towards Thorong La. The early morning uphill struggle is not going to be fun but definitely worth when we reach the top of Thorong La. Slow and steady pace will help us cope with this early morning challenge and when we eventually reach the pass, we will be brought to a breathtaking view. Standing at the elevation of 5,416 meters above sea level and enjoying the view around is simply an experience of life time. Later, we trek down to Muktinath to stay overnight.
We will continue our trek to Jomsom via Kagbeni today. This is the last day of trekking journey on the trip. After spending some incredible time and exploring the wonders in Manaslu Annapurna Circuit Trek, we have come to the end of trekking part of the adventure. We spend a relaxing night in Jomsom today.
We will fly to Pokhara today. The flight will go parallel past the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. This amazing flight lands in Pokhara in about 20 minutes. We will have the rest of the day at leisure in Pokhara. Spending some relaxing time after few days of trekking in the mountains can be revitalizing
We drive back to Kathmandu today. Drive through the same highway we took earlier to go to Pokhara takes us back to the Nepalese capital city. (There is an option of flying back at an extra cost) Once we reach Kathmandu and check into hotel, we will have free time on our own. After several days in the quiet mountains, life in Kathmandu might feel a sudden change.
