The Langtang Circuit Trek is an exciting adventure that takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Langtang region, up to the sacred Gosaikunda Lake, and down to the peaceful Helambu region. This trek is one of the most beautiful routes in the Himalayas, offering awe-inspiring views of massive glaciers, snow-capped mountain peaks, and the vibrant culture of the locals.
Located to the north of the Kathmandu Valley, the trail is easily accessible to trekkers. Despite its proximity to Kathmandu, not many people are aware of the breathtaking beauty and adventurous trail that the Langtang region has to offer. Consequently, only a few adventurous souls embark on this trek, making it relatively less crowded than other famous trekking trails in the Himalayas.
The Langtang Circuit Trek is an excellent alternative to the popular Annapurna Circuit Trek. This trail is quite challenging and takes you through some beautiful villages, leading to the holy Gosaikunda Lake and crossing the Lauribinayak Pass, which stands at 4,610 meters. Additionally, we have added the pristine routes of the Helambu region to the trek. As you trek, you will have the opportunity to witness the unique lifestyle and culture of Tamangs & Sherpas. The trek will take you through dense forests of bamboo and rhododendrons, passing by Langtang village and continuing to Kyanjin Gompa. From there, the trail leads to Sing Gompa through Thulo Syabru, then climbs to the Gosaikunda. To reach the top of Lauribinayak Pass, you will follow a steep and rugged path before descending to Kutumsang via Ghopte. Finally, the trail drops down to Chisapani through Shivapuri National Park. From Sundarijal, it's a short drive back to Kathmandu.
The breathtaking Helambu region, inhabited by Sherpa people, is a must-visit destination if you want to experience the rich Tibetan culture and tradition. In this region, you can explore Tibetan monasteries and witness the natural beauty of the Langtang and Helambu Valley, which is comparable to the popular Langtang Valley. The friendly Yolmo tribe, also known as Hyolmo, is another highlight of the region. They have their language and culture that you can learn about during your visit. The Langtang Circuit Trek is a great option for those who love trekking and want to enjoy the natural landscape and cultural practices while being surrounded by biodiversity. This trek is suitable for trekkers of all ages and skill levels, as it is considered non-technical.

The tour will begin with a visit to Pashupatinath, considered to be the most sacred Hindu Temple dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. You'll then move on to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a historically and culturally significant site, followed by Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a former royal palace complex.
Your city guide will accompany you and provide information about each place, including its religious and historical significance. The guide will also respond to any inquiries you might have. The sightseeing tour will take around three to four hours, and lunch will be provided along the way. Once the tour is over, you'll be dropped off at your hotel.
Meanwhile, our team will be busy preparing for the trek, which includes obtaining the necessary permits and equipment.
Your journey to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu begins via road in a private jeep or bus, covering a distance of only 50 miles (80 kilometers). Syabrubesi is a small town nestled in the Langtang National Park in the central part of Nepal. It has become an essential stopover for trekkers en route to the Langtang region. During the journey, you'll experience scenic views of lush green hills and several small villages until you finally arrive at Syabrubesi, a charming village that provides hikers with a breathtaking perspective of the Langtang region's natural splendor. The Tamang community, one of the major ethnic groups in Nepal, is predominant in Syabrubesi. You'll be spending your first night at the lodge here.
Today is your first day trek. After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our hike along the trail. We will avoid the traditional route to Langtang via the Lama Hotel. 95% of trekkers take this route, thus making it very crowded, WETREK will take you the new route because the traditional route follows through the riverside and forest, and due to this reason most of the views are blocked on the way. But the upper route Sherpagaon has rather extensive views of the valley and also a lesser walk for the day.
The accommodation in the Lama Hotel is not up to our expectation as it’s very crowded because the tourists going up to Langtang and back to Syabrubesi both stay here. On the other hand, Sherpagaon has new tea houses which are cleaner and the crowd is also lesser than Lama Hotel. Leaving Syabrubesi , you will reach a suspension bridge, then proceed farther on a steep path leading to Khanjim, which is located at an elevation of 2235 meters. You will take a lunch break there. Following your lunch, you will continue your trek uphill to reach the summit, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Ganesh Himal. Afterward, you will continue your journey to Sherpa Gaon, where you will spend the night at the lodge.
On the third day of our Langtang Circuit trek, we will leave Sherpa Gaon early in the morning and lead you into the deeper parts of the Himalayan wilderness. The trail ascends gradually, taking you through enchanting forests surrounded by oak, rhododendron, maple, and hemlock. Along the way, you will catch glimpses of towering peaks such as Mt. Langtang Lirung. You will pass through Tamang village like Ghode Tabela and a Buddhist Monastery before reaching the beautiful Thyangsyap village. You will also come across a beautiful wall of stones carved with religious scriptures. Once you arrive at the village, you can explore the surrounding areas and learn about the unique culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the Tamang people. In the evening, you will be served local cuisine before retiring for the night.
Today, you will set out on a gradual climb through small villages and yak pastures. As you continue your journey, the valley will open up and the views will become more extensive. Along the way, you will cross several small streams and moraines before finally reaching Kyanjin Gompa in time for lunch. After lunch, you'll have the opportunity to visit a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory. This will give you enough time to acclimatize to the altitude and explore the surrounding area. The setting is truly breathtaking, with snow-covered peaks surrounding you in all directions. From here, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Dorje Lakpa (6,990m.), Langtang Ri (6,370m.), and Langtang Lirung (7,245m.). Your overnight stay will be at a comfortable lodge.
Today is a rest day in Kyanjing Gompa. It is recommended to stay here for an additional day to allow your body to acclimate to the high altitude. After breakfast, we will embark on an exciting excursion to Tserko Ri, located at an elevation of 5,000m. On the way, you will pass through vibrant rhododendron forests, picturesque meadows, and traditional Tamang villages where you can catch glimpses of local life. This hike is challenging but extremely rewarding, and it promises to be a thrilling adventure for every trekker. Once you reach the top, you will be greeted with breathtaking views of over 20 snow-clad peaks and the Langtang Valley. After enjoying the view, we will head back to Kyanjin Gompa for a second-night stay.

After breakfast, you will depart from Rimche and continue your journey to your next destination. Your trek will commence with a brief ascent through bamboo forests, passing by the Langtang River until you reach the bamboo village. You will continue your trek until you reach the top of a ridge, where you can admire the stunning view of the Thulo Syabru Valley. After crossing a bridge, you will begin your descent downhill. As you trek, you will be treated to a spectacular view of the Manaslu, Langtang, and Annapurna ranges. After making your way downhill, you will eventually arrive at Foprang Danda. Walking along the peaceful trail, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking natural scenery and explore Tamang villages. The stunning views of the Langtang range will also add to the beauty of your journey towards Foprang. Stay overnight at the lodge
After leaving Foprang Danda, you will continue your journey and slowly ascend towards Chalang Pati. Once you reach the top, you will be greeted with a beautiful viewpoint. From there, you can see the stunning views of Mt. Langtang Lirung and the Tibetan mountains. The trail passes through peaceful and picturesque forests of rhododendrons and pine trees where you might spot some wildlife. This trail is known for its diverse wildlife and vegetation. As you make your way towards Laurebina, you will also get a clear view of the snow-capped mountain ranges from Annapurna to Langtang. After walking for about 5 to 6 hours, you will finally reach Laurebina, which is closer to Gosaikunda. This place is mostly inhabited by red pandas. You will be staying overnight at a lodge in Laurebina.
The trek from Lauribina to Gosaikunda is a breathtaking experience. After having breakfast in Lauribina, you will continue your trek by climbing a steep ridge that will lead you to Lauri Binayak (3920 m). From there, the trail will gradually ascend towards the alpine region above the tree line. As you cross a small ridge, you will catch the first glimpse of the holy Gosaikunda Lake. The lake is believed to have been created by Lord Shiva, who, after swallowing poison that threatened to wipe out humanity, pierced a glacier with his trident to retrieve water to quench his thirst. This is why the Gosaikunda Lake holds great religious significance. During the full moon day festival every August, hundreds of devotees visit the sacred lake to worship and take a holy bath. Surrounding the Gosaikunda Lake are various other lakes, including Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosaikunda. By evening, you will arrive at your lodge where you will be staying overnight.
On the tenth day of the trek, we will face the longest and most challenging day as we cross the Lauribina La Pass, which sits at an altitude of 4610 meters. In the morning, we will take a walk around the lake to experience its majestic beauty. After returning to the lodge, we'll have a nice breakfast and continue our journey. We'll trek through rough countryside trails and pass several small glacial lakes until we reach the foothills of Lauribina La Pass. We'll climb up to the summit of the pass on a steep trail, and witness one of the most stunning views of the trek. The trail then descends to a place called Phedi. We'll walk through an easier trail past meadows, alpine vegetation with pine and fir trees, caves, and prayer flags before settling in Ghopte.
Today, you will start your trek downhill from the ridge at Ghopte. You will pass through the beautiful alpine countryside, which is characterized by meadows, pines, and scrubs that are typically found at high elevations. After that, you will enter the forest once again and follow the ridges until you reach Magen Goth (2420m). Leaving this village, the trail will gradually climb to a small pass at Mere Danda (3510m), and then descend through a rhododendron forest inhabited by only a few shepherds’ huts. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Dorje Lakpa and Shisapangma peaks. Finally, you will arrive at the beautiful village of Kutumsang where you will stay overnight at a lodge
After having breakfast, you will begin your trek by following a path that gradually climbs and descends to Gul Bhanjyang (2140m), a charming and picturesque hill village. You will then gradually ascend a forested ridge to the long, stretched-out village of Thong Betini (2260m) and climb up around 200 meters to the top of Jhogin Danda (2420m). Afterward, you’ll descend over a stone staircase to the teashops at Chipling (2170m). From there, you’ll continue to trek down to Pati Bhanjyang (1860m), a village inhabited by Brahman and Chhetri people. The trail will then gently climb up through meadows and fields until you finally reach Chisopani, where you’ll stay overnight at a lodge.
Today, you will have to wake up early in the morning to witness the beautiful sunrise and mountain views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Gaurishanker, Dorje Lakpa, and Langtang Himalaya ranges. The first part of today's trekking is to climb up the last mountain pass called Borlang Bhanjyang (2440m) close to Shivapuri Hill. After crossing this pass, you will descend steeply through deeply eroded chasms towards the Tamang settlement of Mulkharka (1800m). Sundarjial is just a short walk away from here.
On the way, you will pass through the local water supply system and water pipe. At Sundarijal, your trekking journey ends. Then, you will take a 1-hour drive to reach your hotel in Kathmandu. Make sure you check into the hotel after arrival, then unwind. In the evening, you will be offered a farewell dinner with Nepali cuisine and cultural dances at a typical Nepali restaurant.
Today marks the end of your stay in Nepal. You will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport as per your flight departure time. As you board your flight, bid a fond farewell to our Himalayan Country, taking with you the memories of the snow-capped peaks, beautiful scenery, and the warm smiles of the people you have encountered along the way.
