What do you see on the trek?
Day one of the trip is your arrival day in Kathmandu, Nepal. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, We Trek Nepal representative will welcome you and transfer to hotel. It will take more or less 20 minutes to reach hotel depending upon traffic. We will let you know about our trip briefing schedule and other essentials on your arrival at the hotel. You stay relaxed and try to adjust with the new atmosphere as a traveller. We will talk about any questions you may have at our trip briefing meeting. There will be meditation class in the evening.
There is an early morning yoga class to start the day with. Later, after the yoga and breakfast, we get ready for exploration activity for the day. We are at the elevation of 1,400 meters from sea level. We will take this day as our acclimatization and preparation day before we head up towards the mountains. Instead of staying idle in hotel, we will take you for a wonderful day tour of Kathmandu valley. Exploring UNESCO’s cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu is the best way to know about historical, cultural and spiritual aspects of this 2 millennia old city. We will visit Swoyambhunath popularly known as the Monkey Temple that is oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Kathmandu Durbar Square that is one of the medieval palace squares in Kathmandu valley, Boudhanath that is the largest Buddhist stupa and Pashupatinath that is a Hindu temple premises with open Hindu cremation platforms on the bank of River Bagmati. Once we are back to hotel in the afternoon, we will go for last minute gearing up for our trekking adventure. Participate in the evening meditation class.
Energize and prepare yourself for the day with early morning yoga practice. We will drive to Pokhara, 200 km west of Kathmandu, today. Pokhara is the main gateway to the trekking in Annapurna region. The highway that leads us to Pokhara is full of beautiful villages, rivers, and surroundings. It will take us about six hours to reach Pokhara. This city provides beautiful view of the Annapurna range, peaceful atmosphere, and a stay by the lakeside. Once we reach Pokhara, we can go for a relaxing walk along the walking lane in the Lakeside. You will have meditation class in the evening.
To start the first day of trekking, there is no better way than early morning yoga. Although it’s our first trekking day of the trip but the start of the walk is still about 1.5 hours from here. We drive to Nayapul after breakfast to start our Poon Hill walking adventure. After we get off of the vehicle and start walking towards the destination. When we reach Birethanti, we need to check in to the Annapurna Conservation Area check post before we trek further. Tikhedhunga, our destination for the day, is about 5 hours walk from Nayapul. We mostly walk on the motorable dirt road today to reach the destination. Tikhedhunga lies at the foothills right at the bottom of Ulleri village. A relaxing stretching and meditation class in the evening.
Participate in the early morning refreshing yoga class. The second day of our trekking adventure takes us to Ghorepani - a beautiful village that lies about 1,000 meters above Tikhedhunga. The walk starts with a steep uphill trek to Ulleri village. About two hours of uphill struggle, we eventually arrive to Ulleri easing the trail ahead a bit. After a short break at this beautiful village, we continue walking further ahead through well terraced slopes and then through forest. We reach Ghorepani to find a beautiful welcome of the snow-capped mountains. On a clear day, the view from Ghorepani is simply spectacular. We settle into a teahouse and relax. Ghorepani has beautiful surroundings to sit on meditation after a gentle stretching.
Today is one of the highlights of the trip. We will hike to Poon Hill really early in the morning, much earlier before the break of dawn. The mountain panorama and sunrise from the elevation of 3,210 meters above sea level at Poon Hill is magical. Practice yoga on the top with the view of mountains. We will enjoy yoga, the mountain and sunrise view, weather permitting, before heading back to Ghorepani for breakfast. We, later, trek to Tadapani to stay overnight. It’s a beautiful nature trek to Tadapani. Relax and rejuvenate with a session of stretching and meditation.
A refreshing yoga session early morning prepares us for the day. It is a short day trek through beautiful nature to a cultural village of Ghandruk today. Only about four hours of walk through forested area and we are at the beautiful Ghandruk village. The village is an ethnic cultural village of Gurung people. Explore the culture and life style of the Gurung community’s famous Gorkha history and their rich cultural riches. We can also enjoy close up view of the mountains in the Annapurna region. Stretch and meditate in the evening.
Enjoy the last yoga session up in the mountain. On the final day of trekking adventure, we trek to Nayapul today. We will walk past beautiful small villages along the trail. The walk down to the bank of Modi Khola and along it takes us to Nayapul where we get a ride back to Pokhara. Once we are in Pokhara, we will have leisurely time to wander around the lake side. Feel relaxed with a stretching and meditation session in the evening.
Experience another session of amazing yoga practice. After a few days of peaceful trekking adventure, we take a free and healing day here in Pokhara to recover from the tiredness. We might go find some good after trekking massage to soothe our muscles and joints. Or we can also indulge in some adventure activities like paragliding, zip flying etc. After all, it’s a day to rejuvenate ourselves. Participate in mediation in the evening.
Yoga break. We drive back to Kathmandu today. Drive through the same highway we took earlier to go to Pokhara takes us back to the Nepalese capital city. Once we reach Kathmandu and check into hotel, we will have free time on our own. After several days in the quiet mountains, life in Kathmandu might feel a sudden change. Participate in the stretching and meditation session in the evening.
