What do you see on the tour?
Day one of the trip is your arrival day in Kathmandu, Nepal. When you arrive at Kathmandu airport, We Trek Nepal representative will welcome you and transfer to hotel. It will take more or less 20 minutes to reach hotel depending upon traffic. We will let you know about our trip briefing schedule and other essentials on your arrival at the hotel. You stay relaxed and try to adjust with the new atmosphere as a traveller. We will talk about any questions you may have at our trip briefing meeting.
We will take you for a wonderful day tour of Kathmandu valley today. Exploring UNESCO’s cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu is the best way to know about historical, cultural and spiritual aspects of this 2 millennia old city. We will visit Swoyambhunath popularly known as the Monkey Temple that is oldest monument in Kathmandu valley, Patan that is one of the medieval cities in Kathmandu valley and has beautiful Buddhist sites, Boudhanath that is the largest Buddhist stupa and Pashupatinath that is a Hindu temple premises with open Hindu cremation platforms on the bank of River Bagmati.
After a full day of exploring amazing spiritual sites in Kathmandu valley, it is time now to travel to the birth place of Buddha. We will set out on a long day drive to Lumbini today. The destination is 260 kilometers south west of Kathmandu that will take us about 8 hours of drive to reach the place. As it will be a pretty long day drive, we will take the rest of the day, after reaching Lumbini, at leisure.
We will spend a full day visiting Lumbini. The huge area of Lumbini consists of Mayadevi Temple, monasteries, museum and many other wonderful and sacred sites. It will be a day full of spiritual exploration and awakening. Paying homage to the birth place of Buddha is really a wonderful experience. A leisurely exploration day at the birth place of Buddha gives us a wonderful spiritual experience.
Early in the morning, we will drive to Tilaurakot, 29 kilometers west of Lumbini, to explore the ruins of the palace where Buddha lived as the prince of the kingdom. Later, we return back to Bhairahawa and fly back to Kathmandu. It is an amazing day of exploring the ancient place of Tilaurakot where Prince Siddhartha lived as the prince of Kapilvastu kingdom.
