One of the jewels that reside in western Nepal, is the Rara lake. This lake stands as a reservoir of life in the lap of the Himalayas. OVERVIEW
The Rara Lake trek commences from Kathmandu and then it will take you to Nepalgunj and then to Jumla. The trek takes you through the forests and along the Jugad river to Chere Chaur. The road passes along ancient monasteries and after you cross the Jaljala pass, you’ll reach the Sinja valley. As you gradually move through the Laha forest, you’ll walk on the path along the Ghatte Khola.
Finally, we arrive at the Rara lake, At the lake, admire the surreal picture of the green hills and the faraway Chuchhemara mountain. After basking in the glory of Rara, we make our way down the Dhauligar valley and into Mugu. Like the Mardi Himal trek, you can see many remote settlements here. Once we cross the Ghuchri Lagna Pass, we head towards the ending portion of this trek.
Interact with locals in Jumla and try the local cuisine. On the final day, catch an airplane that will take you to Nepalgunj and ultimately to Kathmandu.
ACCOMMODATION DURING THE TREK
During the Rara Lake trek, you will be residing in teahouses and lodges. On the contrary, while you reside in the major cities, you will reside in hotels. The price of hotels tends to vary. In the case of food, you can choose to either eat at the hotel or the restaurants. On the trail, there are no restaurants so if you want edibles, then you must carry them. Like the Khopara trek, teahouses will be your major staying place.
